The Cabin in the Woods (mini-view)

Drew Goddard’s 2012 horror gem The Cabin in the Woods is a wickedly enjoyable piece of work; one of the freshest, most creative horror films of the entire 21st century… but I can’t say why.

Ever since the film’s initial release in the first quarter of 2012, fans have gone out of their way to try and offer this film the praise it so rightfully deserves whilst trying not to spoil any of its more delicious secrets. I find myself in the same camp, and I can wholeheartedly agree with those who wish to hide what truly lays in this film’s final stretches. Going into this film knowing as little as possible is a true pleasure and I wouldn’t dare deprive anyone of that experience. And since Halloween is approaching fast, this is one modern American horror film which innovates and pushes boundaries as much as it offers pure entertainment. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss this one, especially if you’re a fan of the horror genre.
